5 things Alex can’t live without

Family

My family is the most important thing in my life. I met my wife at McMaster University where we both were taking Kinesiology. She went on to become a Nurse/Superhero and we now have 2 wild boys Colton and Luca who keep us VERY busy.

Bikes

My wife might argue that this comes as number one. I love bikes and cycling, if I could I would probably have at least 6 in the garage at all times, unfortunately my garage is pretty full and bikes are expensive so I'll stick to what I have. Whether Im riding them or racing them or cleaning them they take up most of my spare time after spending time with my family of course.

Races

I love racing and competition. Right now I am focused on racing my mountain bike and training for that. I also race in running shoes from marathons to 10k and 5k races. Adventure races are another thing I love and I usually try to do one every year. I've never done an ultra-marathon, 24hr bike race, or a triathlon but one day I hope to try!

Camping

Camping is something I've always done since a kid and now it is our favourite thing to do as a family. Almost all of our vacations are camping trips. My wife and I love portaging and back country camping in the middle of no where and now we also love going car camping with our kids at different provincial parks. There's something about living in nature that makes our whole family happy.

Coffee

This one might be a little cliche but its true. Some might call me a coffee snob but I still like Tim Hortons too. Right now we are really into single origin coffee from Detour Coffee Roasters in Dundas, ON. These coffees come from individual batches grown on one specific farm and each one has different flavour notes depending where it was grown. Normally were making espresso and sometimes a french press.
